Day 1: Arrive at Oliver Tambo Airport in the morning to be met by your tour guide. We drive from the high veld to the low veld region of the Mpumalanga Province, (meaning "the place where the sun rises") After a drive of about 400km in lovely changing scenery, we will reach the southern border of the Kruger National Park. After entering the gates, we will be on the lookout for the "Big 5" (Lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo) for the rest of the afternoon. We will enjoy a relaxing buffet.
Day 2: Enjoy a perfect sunrise on an splendid African day while driving in the Park with your guide. We will return from the game drive to enjoy a large breakfast. For the rest of the day we will enjoy more wild game viewing as we drive. In the afternoon we will enjoy a sunset drive on an open safari vehicle with Kruger National Park game ranger. These game drives are about 3 hours in length.
Day 3: This morning we will depart our rest camp early in order to enjoy a day driving through probably the most scenic region in South Africa: the Panorama Route. This route is situated along the Blyde River Canyon which is said to be the third deepest canyon in the world, and one of the world's only year round green canyons. We stop at a number of view points along the way, namely God's Window, the Bourke's Luck Potholes and the Three Rondavels. We return to the Kruger National Park for dinner. After dinner we depart for a night drive on an open safari vehicle with Kruger National Park game ranger. These game drives are about 3 hours in length.
Day 4: Enjoy a early morning bush walk with Park game ranger. Return for breakfast and for the rest of the day try to spot as many animals as possible. We will stop several times during the day to freshen up. We will also visit the fascinating Stevenson Hamilton Library and museum in Skukuza, the main camp in the Park.
Day 5: We will be taking a final game drive before departing and spending the morning at the Sudwala caves and lovely Belfast, well-known for breath taking nature, before we depart and spend the afternoon driving back to Johannesburg. The tour ends late afternoon at either Johannesburg International Airport or the accommodation of your choice in the Johannesburg or Pretoria area. |
