If you want to become the next Kevin Piertersen, or hoping to take your game to the next level, then our Cricket Academy in New Zealand is for you!
Designed for players of all abilities, the Academy develops a personal training programme specifically for you, incorporating your aspirations, current ability and intensity that you want to train at.
During the programme, academy members will be responsible for sticking to their own training regime/schedule. Working with a former international and NZ Level 3 coach, each player has a training logbook in order for their development to be more measurable and their progress realistic.
The training will cover the following areas:
- Gym fitness work and flexibility training
- Cricket specific fitness training.
- Spin bowling skills focusing on target and ball revolution
- Bowling machine sessions to improve batting and wicket keeping
- Fielding skills and a variety of fielding practice drills
- Pace bowling development – looking at bowling action, run up etc
- Video analysis of player’s techniques
- Group net sessions with other academy players

Matches and Local Teams:
Each Saturday the academy players will represent one of the sides in the local premier competition or open grade, depending on the level of each player. It is important that you submit a “cricket CV” before you arrive, so the coach can allocate you to a side appropriate to your playing level and experience. By playing regular matches at a good competitive level, the academy and its players are able to evaluate the application of skills taught and learnt during the week, in a real-life environment.
Sundays are rest or personal training days (Some Sundays are used for development matches). |
