From the moment you set foot on the grounds you'll know why the Chez Maggie has long enjoyed the reputation as the hotel of choice in Morondava. As one of the first properties on Nosy Kely; the large rooms, established gardens, and west-facing beach front setting provide a tranquil and luxurious retreat.
A small, intimate property, the Chez Maggie is known by locals and international travelers alike. Whether your home is Antananarivo, San Francisco, Nairobi, Paris, or Boston, the Chez Maggie quickly becomes your "home away from home" in Madagascar.
• Located on the Mozambique Channel in the coastal town of Morondava, a friendly, safe and relaxed location. The hotel is located on the beach on Nosy Kely where the 'mora mora' (‘slowly slowly’) spirit is alive and well.
• In July 2007 we added three new bungalows and now have a total of twelve accommodations available.
All Rooms Feature:
- en suite bathrooms with hot water
- fans and / or ceiling fans
- air conditioning (all new in 2007) – (except rooms 11, 12 & 14 which have ceiling and floor fans)
- all beds with mosquito nets
- most rooms have a large sitting area and or veranda

We encourage you to include full board (or half board) for your stay. Our menu is extensive and the portions are generous. We’re confident they will not be disappointed! Under the direction of head chef, Nirina, we serve some of the best cuisine in the Menabe Region featuring fresh seafood, with a wide variety of salads and specialty dishes.
Length of Stay
We hope you'll consider an extended stay with us especially when arriving overland from Bekopaka or Antananarivo. If you book through a travel agent as part of a package program you may want to suggest more than one night at the Chez Maggie. There are many options for spending the time and the extra time will allow you to relax, recover and enjoy the hotel, beach, swimming pool and gardens. In short, time to ‘re-charge your batteries’ before moving on - whether homeward or to other parts of Madagascar.

Morondava is the gateway to many of the attractions of western Madagascar and the list of exciting activities is long and varied.
The Chez Maggie faces west and is located directly on the Mozambique Channel with a long, clean and inviting beach just outside your door. Local dhow sail boats are available for hire and the water is warm, just right for swimming and body surfing. Or you may prefer to lounge by the pool, stroll to the market, and end your day enjoying a cool drink with the setting sun.
We're happy to assist with arrangements for excursions to many of the unique attractions throughout the area.
