Day 1: Arrive Auckland early morning, drive to Paihia
Accom: 3 star hotel Meals: No Meals
Day 2: Sea Kayaking – Bay of Islands
After a reasonably early start we will take a short drive to our start point for our Bay of Islands sea kayaking journey. After a short paddle we will set up camp before heading out for a day of sea kayaking.

Day 3: Sea Kayaking – Bay of Islands
Today will be a sweet day of exploring this spectacular area from our sea kayaks, we will paddle in some sheltered bays and conditions permitting head out into some open water and do some ‘rock hopping’ and explore some caves and the lesser known gems of this area.

Day 4: Sea Kayaking – Bay of Islands
After another morning of great sea kayaking we will head back to the vehicles, before making the beautiful drive to the east coast beach town of Mt Manganui

Day 5: Full Day Surfing Lesson - Explore Mt Manganui/Tauranga
After a leisurely start to the day we will get out in the ocean for a full day of surfing. The day will be broken up into a few different sessions, our location will depend on surf conditions, weather etc.

Day 6: Morning Surf Session – Drive to Taupo
After a morning surf session we will drop off the boards before taking the drive to Taupo. On the way we will stop and check out Huka Falls before arriving in Taupo mid afternoon. After checking into our accommodation we will meet up to shop for our hiking trip starting tomorrow.

Day 7: Hiking – Whakapapa Ski Area to Crater Lake and Te Heu Heu Summit
After an early breakfast we will finalize our packing before heading to Whakapapa Ski area, the start of our hiking mission. Today we will reach the crater lake of Mt Ruapehu and summit Te Heu Heu peak before camping on the summit plateau of the mountain

Day 8: Hiking – Mt Ruapehu Summit Plateau to Upper Tama Lake
After breaking camp we will take a bearing and follow it to the spectacular Upper Tama Lake, most of the day today is downhill (steep) walking, and we will be greeted by a spectacular lakeside campsite, and with clear skies the views are mind-blowing.

Day 9: Hiking – Upper Tama Lake to Mt Ngaruhoe Summit
This will be the hardest day of the hike, with a lot of elevation gain over a short distance. The reward though is standing on top of the symmetrical volcano of Mt Ngaruhoe, with 360 degree views (weather permitting) all the way to Mt Taranaki on the west coast, and across Lake Taupo.

Day 10: Mt Ngaruhoe Summit – Mt Tongariro Summit – Mangatepopo Car Park
We will descend from Mt Ngaruhoe early in the morning and we will take a short section of the world famous Tongariro crossing before heading up the summit ridge to Mt Tongariro. Once atop this we will have completed our 3 summit trek, then a 2 hour descent down the west ridge will deliver us to our awaiting vehicle. The afternoon will be spent relaxing in natural thermal pools, before we have a huge Puia (steamed meal) dinner.

Day 11: Whitewater Rafting Double Header – Kaituna and Wairoa Rivers
Today will be a very exciting adrenaline filled day, and quite possibly one of the coolest days of rafting you can do anywhere in the world. We will first raft the steep and technical Wairoa River, this is filled with difficult drops and rapids such as the Waterfall, Roller Coaster, Mothers Nightmare and more. After that we will head to Rotorua and raft the short but exciting Kaituna River, this run will see you descend a 7 meter waterfall amongst other super fun whitewater. After rafting we will head back up to Auckland where we will head out for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
