Isla Coche, or Coche Island, has a picture-book beach with magnificent kitesurfing conditions for all levels into the bargain. There's no doubt about it: beginner or expert, you will be absolutely thrilled with this spot.

The Coche Skyriders Centre is still in front of the new Kite Lodges to the left of the Coche Paradise Hotel. It is about 5 min, on foot to the hotel and the ferry wharf. We offer equipment rental and tuition for beginners to experts.

The Skyriders Centre has the latest gear from North Kiteboarding. Celia Falceto, whom many of you will know from El Yaque, will manage the centre, with the assistance of Robbie Anderson in the instruction and service sector. 90% of tuition takes place in the water, which thus making a steep learning curve possible, and course participants are always accompanied by a boat and instructor. Coche is also a good spot for video coaching â€“ all expert sessions are videoed, allowing mistakes to be analysed precisely after the lesson. Coche is suitable for all skill levels, even if the offshore wind is sometimes a little unsettling at first!
With a pleasant year-round air and water temperature of about 26Â° C â€” you can leave your wet suit at home!

Directions

You can fly from anywhere in the world to Caracas / Venezuela.The important thing is that you Need to collect your luggages by arriving in Caracas (Whatever the Touroperator or airline told you to do at departure). You have to get out from the international to the national airport (it's about 5 mins walk), do not take a taxi (nobody recommends it), if you need help with your luggage you can easily get a carrier (be prepared to drop them something like 2 or 3 US$).

Aeropostal is the recommended airline to get to Isla Margarita / Porlamar. They fly 7 times a day (2 flights in the morning, and 5 in the afternoon from 7 a.m till 7.30 p.m). Some US Airlines fly directly to Porlamar airport.
When arriving in Porlamar, you can already see the Windsurfers from the airplane. It is realy close!
You do not have a transfer organised? Just get out the airport and take a taxi to El Yaque.
