Day 1:
Arrive in Accra, Ghana and check in at the hotel Start the day with a visit to the W.E.B. Du Bois Museum, dedicated to the life and work of the renowned black historian, writer, and activist who spent his last years in Ghana. Continue the tour to the Independence Square, where Ghana's first president, Kwame Nkrumah, declared the country's independence from colonial rule. Take a stroll through the Jamestown community, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Accra that served as a hub for the slave trade, and see the infamous James Fort and Ussher Fort, which were used as holding facilities for enslaved people before they were shipped off to the Americas. Enjoy a delicious Ghanaian meal and traditional music in the evening.

Day 2:
Start the day with a visit to Cape Coast, about a three-hour drive from Accra, and tour the Cape Coast Castle, a former slave-holding facility and the headquarters of the British Gold Coast. After a guided tour of the castle, head to the Cape Coast Castle Museum, which tells the harrowing story of the transatlantic slave trade from the African perspective.
