Canary Islands PADI Open Water Diver Course in Lanzarote

Get ready for a Canary Islands PADI Open Water Diver course in Lanzarote!

You must be at least 10 years old, able to swim and in good physical health to enrol on a diving course. If you meet these requirements, the first thing you’ll do is learn the basics of diving during phase one, knowledge development.

Step 01
Knowledge development
Self-study diving when and where it is convenient for you and above all at your own pace, and avoid wasting days of your holiday doing the theoretical part
During the knowledge development, you will learn all about diving equipment, become familiar with diving terminology and watch videos on diving skills. It is self-study, and all the necessary material will be given to you at the dive centre.

The most popular option for knowledge development is PADI eLearning®, an independent study option where you read, watch videos and take quizzes using a computer or mobile phone. Complete your dive studies when and where it is convenient. On average, the program requires eight hours to complete.
At the end of your knowledge development, you will take a final exam to ensure that you have a thorough understanding of the essential elements of diving.

Your PADI Instructor will answer any questions you may have along the way.

Step 02
Confined water dives
During your confined waters, you will breathe for the first time underwater in a calm environment, like a swimming pool since Playa Dorada located in front of the dive centre meets the requirements known as ¨aguas confinadas¨. You will practice basic dive skills such as cleaning the water in your mask, ascending and descending. Your instructor will demonstrate and review the skills with you. When you feel ready, you\’ll move on to the final phase, open water diving!

Step 03
Open water dives
The Open Water course includes four total dives, done over two days.
You will learn to dive to a maximum of 12 metres on your first two dives and to a maximum of 18 metres on your last two dives.
With your instructor by your side, you will practice the skills you learned in confined water and explore the underwater world.
After completing the four open water dives and all course requirements you will become a certified diver, a qualification that will last a lifetime.
