The PADI Open Water Course takes some 4 days to complete and we start courses literally every other day with small group sizes (average of 2 to 4 students). You start to learn diving in our swimming pool before venturing into the ocean.

The PADI Open Water Course (OWD) is your first step into scuba diving and certifies you to dive anywhere in the world together with a diving buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters. The course takes some 4 days to complete, and we have courses starting almost every day with small group sizes (average of between 2 to 4 students per instructor).

We will arrange that you can complete the theory before arrival (eLearning), so you can fully focus on the practical part when you are on Tioman. There you will spend the first 3 days learning basic scuba diving skills in our pool and during shallow ocean shore dives, and the last day on our dive boat where you will dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters/60 feet.

Learn to dive Tioman – Course prerequisites:
You must know how to swim (there will be a 200m swim test or a 300m snorkelling test)
You must know how to float (there will be a 10minute float test)
You need to be able to answer all questions in the PADI Medical Statement with NO

Itinerary

Spend 4 days with us on a learn to dive Tioman Island course and become a certified diver! You can of course extend your stay and conduct more dives (extra charges apply).

A typical day on a beginner scuba diving holiday in Malaysia could look like this:

DAY 1:
• Arrival with a morning ferry
• Introduction and paperwork
• eLearning Quick Review
• Equipment Explanation
• 1 pool session (Confined Water Modules 1 and part of 2)

DAY 2:
• 09:00am – Meeting at the dive center
• 09:30am – 1 pool session or shore dive (Confined Water Modules 2 and 3)
• 12:00pm – Watermanship assessment (swim test, float test, skin diving)
• 12:30pm – Lunch Break
• 1:30pm – 1 shore dive (Open Water Dive 1)
• 4:30pm – Logbook and debriefing

DAY 3:
• 09:00am – Meeting at the dive center
• 09:30am – 1 shore dive (Confined Water Modules 4 & 5)
• 12:00pm – Lunch Break
• 1:00pm – 1 shore dive (Open Water Dive 2)
• 4:30pm – Logbook and debriefing

DAY 4:
• 08:15am – Meeting at the dive centre
• 08:30am – Departure by boat to the dive sites
• 09:30am – 1 boat dive (Open Water Dive 3)
• 11:00am – 1 boat dive (Open Water Dive 4)
• 12:30pm – Return to dive centre, Certification
• 2:30pm – Departure (or extend your stay)
