The Seychelles are a collection of over 100 islands lying in the Indian Ocean, to the north of Madagascar. They are a top luxury holiday destination, with some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, and a diverse, vibrant cultural scene. Many of the islands are coral atolls, others are among the world’s oldest granite islands. For those who want to take a Seychelles rock climbing holiday, these are the islands to head to.

The most popular Seychelles tourist islands are the capital Mahe, La Digue and Praslin. All of them are relatively large granite islands, with some excellent climbing opportunities. Beyond the beaches, these are islands of forests and rocky mountains: ideal for climbing.

You can climb just about anywhere you can find a rock in the Seychelles, but there are some particular hotspots. Several resorts have developed climbing centres in the jungle. But it is La Digue which is the main centre for rock climbing in the Seychelles. It is a jungly, undeveloped island, 40% of which is protected national park.
