The Bahamas ticks all the ‘island paradise’ boxes. Over 700 small islands and over 2000 coral cays make up the country. The water is warm, clear and blue. The beaches are white, sandy and palm-fringed. It’s a fantastic place to lie on beach and sunbathe. It’s an even better place to get out on to the water and wakeboard.
Take a Bahamas wakeboard holiday, and you can enjoy fantastic conditions on the islands. Water temperatures reach into the high twenties, with air temperatures often into the thirties. Wind and swell are variable, but there are plenty of lovely calm bays, perfect for practising tricks, improving skills and learning for the first time. It’s best to travel to the Bahamas between November and May. June to October is storm season.
Wakeboarding can be done all over the islands, with wakeboard operators based in many resorts. Nassau is the island’s capital, but its waters can be choppy. It’s best to take the short hop over to Paradise Island, where there is a calm, protected bay with plenty of space that is perfect for wakeboarding.
Elsewhere in the Bahamas, there are plenty of other opportunities to ride. Whether you want to stick to a big hotel resort, or explore some of the smaller, less built up areas of the Bahamas, you’ll find places to do both. You can’t wakeboard everywhere in the Bahamas: the water is too rough in many places. But anywhere there is calm water, there could be the opportunity to wakeboard.
On a Bahamas wakeboard trip, you’ll see some of the best of the Caribbean, and you’ll be wakeboarding in some of the most attractive water around.
