Our Story

Action Peru Treks was founded as a local indigenous tour company in 2015 by Roxner Cardenas, a Peruvian native born and raised in a small community outside Machu Picchu. Roxner has trekked all his life. In fact, he was 12 years old when he first visited the majestic Machu Picchu. Amazed by the history and architecture of the ruins, he decided to study to be a guide so he could share his culture and the beauty of his country with others.

Since then, Roxner has guided hundreds of groups and individuals on various treks, including the Inca Trail, Ancascocha, Salkantay, Lares, and the Choquequirao trek. He has worked both as a porter and a tour guide, enabling trekkers and travelers from all over the world to navigate through diverse terrains and cultural landscapes.

This paved the way for Action Peru Treks to start operating as the only indigenous tour company in Peru. Over the years, we have established ourselves as a reputable tourism company that offers guided expeditions and immersive experiences in the Peruvian region.
