Itinerary
Itinerary for 5-Day Midnight Sun Finland multi activity adventure in Lapland
Day 1 : Rovaniemi, The Official Hometown of Santa Claus
Welcome to Rovaniemi! During your first day in Lapland, you will start the tour by walking to the top of Ounasvaara Hill, Rovaniemi´s highest spot. After a relaxing walk through the forest, we will reach the peak of the hill, from where we will enjoy the panoramic views of all Rovaniemi and the astonishing Kemijoki river.
After we walk down the hill, we will visit the most iconic place in Lapland, Santa Claus Village. In Santa´s official home, we will have the chance to meet Santa himself! We will cross the line that marks the beginning of the Arctic Circle, and we will receive a certificate that proves that we crossed into the Arctic region! We will also have the chance to meet the elves working in Santa´s Official Post Office, who will help us send letters or postcards to our loved ones, wherever they might be.
After this lovely experience in such a magical place, we will head on to the accommodation, a nice and cozy hotel twin room, to rest and prepare for the second day!
Day 2 : Lapland Nature Hiking and Reindeer Farm
Although the Arctic is known for harsh winter climate, it is full of green and flourishing forests during the summers. Along the beautiful nature trek, you can find rich varieties of berries and mushrooms. Handpicked directly from the forest, the berries and the mushrooms are the freshest. Enjoy the taste while you are picking them or savor them with a barbecue lunch.
Once well-fed, visit the local reindeer farm and greet the famous, gentle animal of the Arctic. The reindeers roam freely during the winter, and they return to their farms during the summer.
Day 3 : Amethyst Mine
The private car will take you to Luosto from your hotel, a city located 115 km away from Rovaniemi. The area contains beautiful forests and nature, where you can indulge yourself in the tranquility of the Arctic circle. The 20 million years old amethyst mine is located inside the ancient mountains. Climbing up the mountain you will meet professionals who will tell you the interesting history of the Amethyst Mine. With the support of them, use the tools to dig out your own piece of amethyst, which you can take with you for a small souvenir.
Afterwards, we will head to the town of Saariselkä, a beautiful civilization haven in the middle of Lappish wilderness. There we will climb to the top of a beautiful mountain, from where we will be able to enjoy the sparkling light of the Midnight Sun in all its glory.
Day 4 : Trip to Inari, The Sami Village
The last stop will be the town of Inari, the center of the Sami culture. Sami people are the indigenous people of Lapland, and there you can find the Sami Siida Museum, which introduced in depth the unique Sami culture. After visiting the museum, you will have free time to explore the peaceful village. The surrounding area has over 100 named hills, and the city has 4 official languages spoken by different Sami groups.
Day 5 : Back to Rovaniemi, End of The Tour
On our last day, we will travel back to Rovaniemi. After the trip, you will enjoy free time to walk around, relax, and maybe buy some souvenirs! Before we take you to the airport or train station.
