The passion for white water brings us to the source of the Nile, where our 3-days adventure “Source of the Nile” begins. This whitewater safari is more than just rafting and paddling. We emphasize on cultural immersion, featuring hand-picked, hyper-local experiences, focusing to understand the history and traditions of the places we paddle by. The Romans had a proverb: “Nili caput quaerere or fontes Nili quærere”. It means in Latin “to search for the head of the Nile” and applied metaphorically to attempt the impossible, unsolvable endeavours. But we will still try! We’re here to share this curiousity with you!
What a happines to move through different landscapes powered by your own muscles and will! To do it by water, observing our world from such untypical for humans points of view as rivers, lakes or see. It’s a privellege, it’s a pure pleasure. It’s a once in a lifetime experience. Source and the breathtaking rapids of the Nile river give the excitement that comes with racing through rolling whitewater from one hand and descend peace into our hearts from another. You’ll get an idea of what paradise looks like.
How to make whitewater closer and more exciting for many? And we came up with it. We offer a choice. We have created a 3-day water adventure in which you choose your own means of communication with water: raft, sap or kayak. Have a look at day by day itinerary for more details, which’s a basic program, but can be modified on request up to your desires and predilections.

1. Source of the river, source of life
Since time immemorial, Lake Victoria has been not only the source of the Nile, but also a source of vital importance for the Bantu tribes who lived on its shores. And, of course, the discovery of the lake by European expeditions was nothing new for them. Therefore, it will be very symbolic to spend the first day on the lake. Let's learn about life and craft of local fishermen — a true hero of these lands. We'll be taken to go fishing in traditional canoes, which are still widely used by most on the Nile. We will be taught how to operate a canoe and catch fish in different ways so that we have dinner on the first day!
It's possible to spend on request the first night on the boutique ten acre island in the expanses of the lake Victoria. Situated within a bird sanctuary consisting of over 50 species of birds it's a wonderful place to relax and recharge the senses while witnessing beautiful sunset and sunrise. Having a more Spartan-accommodation is also an option.
2. Adrenaline rush on the Nile
The rafting section on the Nile is about 20 km. long, with rapids and shivers of varying complexity. While the river is not only mighty, but also wide, it allows to choose more or less ambitious flowing lines.
The rafting will start a couple of kilometers downstream from the Bujagali dam, where we'll undergo a comprehensive safety briefing. The first fan rapids of the Jous, Pyramid and Jijjiti of a moderate difficulty (class 2) will allow us to practice rowing in a team, go out on a flow and jump into an eddy, whet your appetite and pump up your spirit before a cooler adventure.
Immediately after the Overtime rapid the river offers a choice between the Chop-Sui (Class 4+) and the Retrospect (Class 4). This's followed by a leisurely 2 k. as an opportunity to relax before the holes and waves of the Bubugo rapid (class 3/4), which, although small to an eye, often flips rafts over! There we'll rest and have lunch in the Garden of Eden to the singing of robins, turaco and bulbul birds. The mighty Itanda falls is ahead! In which, however, there's a "chicken line" bypassing the main stream full of super holes.
3. Intensive paddling on Super Hole
Since we've already befriended Nile's wild waters, the third day is focused on training on kayaks or sup boards on the best playboating spot which's Super Hole. There're amazing archipelago of barely touched islands in the riverbed with waves of different difficulty and power between. Grab as much of wildwater experience from our qualified kayaking coaches as you can. By the end of the day you'll fell in love with this sport and may tell everybody about yourself: "I'm a kayaker".
