The Philippines is a beautiful island nation in the Pacific Ocean that is home to almost 100 million people. It is also home to a wide range of wildlife, spread across its volcanic mountains, through its lush tropical rainforests and its extensive coastlines.

The Philippines is an increasingly popular choice of destination with sun-worshippers looking for the perfect beach. But beyond the resorts on islands such as Boracay, there is much to discover in the Philippines. Take a Philippines safari and find out for yourself.

The Philippines has 34 national parks and many other areas where wildlife is protected. If you travel to the islands looking to explore the natural world, you’ll find that there are plenty of places to do it. They all have their own character and wildlife.

The Puerto Princesa Park is one of the must-see sights of the Philippines. An underground river travels under the limestone karst mountains above it. As well as riding the river by boat, you’ll be able to explore the natural world above ground, which is thought to be among the most diverse on the Philippines. Keep an eye out for the tarsier – a small tree climbing mammal with huge eyes, and the Philippine mouse-deer.

Bird lovers flock to the island of Olango. It is home to almost 100 species of birds, including the Philippine Eagle. 50,000 migratory birds use the island as a stop-off on their travels each year.

There is much to see beneath the water too, for those interested in scuba diving Philippines. The Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park is a UNESCO world heritage site, a densely populated area of reefs, home to fish, nesting birds and turtles.

A Philippines safari is a chance to see a wide range of tropical wildlife in one place, and to enjoy some stunning landscapes and beaches.
