Snowboarding

Snowboarding is no longer the new kid on the block. Having burst onto the winter sports scene in the 80s it is now an established winter sport. In this worldwide snowboarding travel guide we help you decide where to snowboard. We have holidays, courses and winter accommodation all over the world to help you plan the perfect trip.

When snowboarders first hit the slopes skiers were not happy to be sharing the mountains. There is still a little antagonism between the sideways and forward snow sliders but most people accept it is all just sliding in snow.

The mainstream acceptance of snowboarding was in 1998 when it became a Winter Olympic sport. Since then it has gone onto to change the face of winter sports. In many ways skiing has emulated snowboarding to become more fun and laid back. Freestyle, big air, boardercross and the halfpipe are all popular events introduced by snowboarding which skiers have embraced.

Most snowboarding takes place in ski resorts around the world. However with the invention of splitboarding snowboarders can now skin up the mountains like ski tourers to access backcountry. Where to snowboard? These says it is anywhere with snow but preferably also mountains!

Snowboarding travel is popular worldwide. From Iceland to New Zealand, US to UK, Austria to Australia and France to Japan there are ski resorts in every corner. So put on your boots, gear, goggles and suncream and we’ll see you on the slopes.
