It falls up to 80m in a perfect semi-circle and is surrounded by a huge sub-tropical national park covered in wildlife packed rainforest.
Then, take the road less travelled and head to the Andean region of the north-east, near the borders with Peru and Bolivia. Visit the colonial city of Salta, with its calm squares and cathedrals. From there, you can take the ‘train into the clouds’, an incredible feat of engineering over a desert canyon. Take some time, too to explore the ancient Incan villages that cling to the hillsides.
You can’t miss Patagonia when you visit Argentina. Explore the long, rocky Atlantic coastline, where penguins gather on the beaches and fishermen haul in tasty catches day after day. The region’s highlight is the Parque Nacional los Glaciares, a heart-stoppingly beautiful region of mountains, lakes and glaciers.
