What’s the perfect ski season finale? For me, and many others, it is a big party plus spring skiing and snowboarding under blue skies. Well we can never guarantee the weather, but you can rave & ride at the Tignes Unlimited Festival.

Unfortunately everything has to come to an end – even the ski season. In the high-altitude resort of Tignes, it does so with an extraordinary bang.

For those that don’t know… Tignes is a leading high-altitude resort in the heart of the French Alps. With slopes from 1,440–3,747 meters (4,724–12,293 ft) it is one of the highest ski areas in Alps with 2,300m of vertical.

As part of Espace Killy, linked with Val d’Isere, it is one of the biggest ski areas in the world, with more than 300km of pistes. Check out this review of snowboarding in Tignes to find out more.

Spring Snow: Rave & Ride

From 19 April, Tignes goes into spring break mode for two weeks and transforms the resort into a fun playground where winter sports meet festival atmosphere. The event features a line-up of activities both on and off the slopes:

  • The famous waterslide contest, where brave souls ski or snowboard across a 15-metre water pool
  • Plenty of outdoor DJ sets and concerts across the resort – and of course altitudes
  • Daily aprés-ski parties at the resort’s most popular venues
  • The energy and fun continue long into the night across Tignes bars and nightclubs
  • Thanks to Tignes’ high altitude of 2,100m, skiers can revel in excellent spring skiing conditions, with most runs remaining open until the last day: 4 May 2025.
