I am not a tree hugging eco warrior, but given the choice I go green, even if it costs a little more. So when I first spotted the Sundried eco-friendly sport clothing I was keen to find out more. A few months – and plenty of running – later, this is my review of Sundried activewear.
Introducing Sundried
Sundried’s inspiration comes from combining their love for triathlon and surfing, with their belief that it’s our responsibility to leave the planet in better shape than we found it. So a brand was born, with the goal of producing high performance and eco-friendly sport clothing.
With a design led style Sundried envisioned clothing that performs before, during and after exercise through use of premium materials and innovative construction to improve performance. But just as important is a low environmental impact, responsibly sourced materials, treating the supply chain with respect and contributing to charity.
The Sundried Activewear has been tested by real athletes in real situations to ensure the advanced technologies actually work. The result is eco-friendly sports clothing for men and women that will help you push your limits.
Eco-friendly sports clothing
Eco-friendly, responsible and green are frequently used phrases, what is not so frequent is companies like Sundried that actually deliver. Their philosophy is don’t drive when you can cycle. Don’t produce in China if you can produce in Europe. And use low carbon in everything they do.
To keep on top of this, Sundried has been audited by the Low Carbon Innovation Fund and have strict policies and guidelines in place to keep their carbon footprint to a minimum. This includes currently manufacturing their eco-friendly sports clothing in Portugal, with the added commitment of always keeping production within Europe.
What many people do not realise is the 80% of clothings environmental impact comes after purchase, through washing, drying and disposal. With this in mind Sundried products are made to be washed cool – no matter how sweaty you get – and dried by the sun.
To promote health and wellbeing, the Sundried office operates a ‘Every Hour On the Hour’ policy where all staff do five minutes of exercise each hour, and use 30 minutes of their lunch break to exercise. Every Sundried purchase also leads to a donation to Water for Kids, and comes with a special code so you can see what the money is spent on.
Review of Sundried activewear
For this review of Sundried activewear I tested the Dom Tee and the Furgler Shorts. I did a lot of running in them, but also wore them camping with the family, which included playing football, cricket, frisbee and trying (but failing miserably) to fly a kite.
Review of Sundried Dom Tee
On putting the Dom Tee on for the first time I immediately noticed how stretchy it is. This is down to the 4-way stretch fabric that gives greater mobility. This is perfect for a range of sports, and means that it won’t go out of shape over time.
The second thing I noticed is the exceptionally soft material that feels very comfy. The material wicks sweat away quickly and dries almost as fast as superglue (but without the stickiness). The tapered athletic fit is pretty flattering – even with my currently ‘less athletic than I would like it to be’ body.
The detailing includes reflective stripes on the front and back of the shoulders to help you be seen. There is also a hidden pocket with a zip to keep valuables such as keys and money in. I found it also fitted my phone (Samsung Galaxy S6) but it was a bit of a squeeze.
Overall I found the Dom Tee very comfortable both for sport and general activewear. The stretchiness meant my movement was never impeded, and the wicking properties ensured I stayed dry even when I got a good sweat on. It also washes fine on a cold wash and drys very quickly even if the sun is not out.

Review of Sundried Furgler Short
As a man with big thighs – too much rowing and mountain biking in my youth – I often find shorts can be restrictive. Fortunately the Sundried Furglar shorts have a good sized leg hole and are nicely stretchy making them the perfect fit.
They are inspired by the Furgler summit in Australia, so are made with warmer days in mind, providing a comfortable, ventilated fit that keeps you cool. They sit just above the knee and the tailored fit meant I was comfortable wearing them as casual wear as well as eco-friendly sports clothing.
The fabric is quick drying, plus tear and abrasion resistant to ensure they offer long-lasting durability. Detailing includes reflective strips in the hem to improve visibility in low light conditions.
They have two hand pockets on the hips that are a decent size, however I found my money and phone trying to escape when I sat down, so I would prefer it if they had a zip. The waist is elasticated with a drawstring to adjust them to your size.
Overall the Furgler shorts are very comfortable and ideal for any kind of activity. They are a bit smarter than other sport shorts so suitable for everyday wear. I found them particularly good for driving long distances on hot days – they’ve saved me from a sweaty bottom more than once.

Review of Sundried activewear: Conclusion
The sundried eco-friendly sports clothing is very comfortable. It looks good, working both in sporting and casual situations. Both the shorts and t-shirt are stretchy enough to avoid restricting movement, and the materials are quick drying and wicking to keep you dry when exercising.
I really respect what Sundried have done, not only creating a responsible brand but eco-friendly sportswear that delivers high performance. By giving to charity and encouraging a healthier lifestyle for their employees, it is clear they want to do things the right way.
To conclude this review of Sundried activewear, I’ll say the products are exceptionally good and their responsible nature is uplifting. The only thing I can see stopping them taking the eco-friendly sports clothing market by storm is the price. I don’t mind paying extra to go green, but I feel the Sundried prices may put some people off.

Great review. I don’t know why, but the Sundried range is MUCH cheaper on Amazon. Just google Amazon Sundried and you’ll see the range there is so much cheaper.
it is probably old stock as they have some updated and improved products out now. Either that or the bulk buying power of Amazon means that they get a reduced rate.
New stuff as well. They even sell sunglasses which aren’t on the website.
