Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, attracting millions of visitors every year to its busy beach resorts. While some of those visitors are happy to spend their holiday lying on a sunlounger, many are not. They’re not to be disappointed as just about any land or water sport imaginable is on offer. So, if you want to travel to Tenerife for wakeboarding, you won’t be disappointed…
Take a Tenerife wakeboard trip and explore the island from the water. It’s a fantastic way to enjoy the Atlantic Ocean and appreciate the unusual beauty of Tenerife’s volcanic geography. From a board, you’ll have a wonderful view of the Pico del Teide, Spain’s tallest peak at 3718m.
Where to go to get on a wakeboard in Tenerife? As with anywhere there are plenty of beaches and plenty of tourists, there is a good choice of wakeboarding operators on the island. The south-western corner of the island is home to most of its big resorts, including Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos and along with them plenty of companies able to take you our wakeboarding.
Winds can be strong on Tenerife, offering some challenging conditions for those who want them. The quaint Spanish resort of El Medano is especially windy, with kitesurfing and windsurfing are very popular. Unfortunately the water is often too choppy to wakeboard. There are calmer waters in some of the island’s bays. La Caleta is a good choice, as is Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island’s capital.
Take a Tenerife wakeboard holiday and explore the island’s best bits. There is much more to Tenerife than foam parties and hotel pools. So, hop on a board and experience it!
