The Remarkables is a 45-minute drive from Queenstown and offers truly stunning views. They have a wide-open learners area and a progressive terrain park. With views to match the snow conditions, it is certainly a must ski.
Cardrona is a 55 minute drive from Queenstown and has magnificent wide open perfectly groomed trails. The beginner and intermediate skier will just be in heaven here. If you would like to learn or progress your freestyle skills Cardrona terrain park is arguably the best in New Zealand, hosting events such as the New Zealand Ski Open and Freestyle Ski World Cups. If you are looking for something a little steeper Cardrona has got that too, with the resort area spreading across three bowls there is some great off-piste skiing to done.
After skiing your way around all these resorts a day off is usually in order. Lucky you are in New Zealand’s adventure capital of the world. Bungy jumping, jet boating, canyon swinging – you name it they have it. Or perhaps something a little more sedate, such as a wine tour, or lunch in one of the many lake front restaurants.
