How do they Ember heated gloves work?

Easy. It’s plug-and-play with a rechargeable lithium polymer battery hidden in the cuff. With a charger or adapter back at the hotel, you can plug in to most sockets and charge overnight.

What’s innovative?

You have four customisable settings, all accessed from the back of each glove – no need to take your gloves off – and you can increase, decrease or switch off on the go.

What’s cool about them?

Thanks to a blend of thin, sealed wires and hundreds of tiny strands (Emberwire) there’s better coverage and reduced chances of a breakage. Heat is focused on key areas reaching out to the tips of all fingers and the thumb, and heating time is faster.

The market has a lot other heated gloves for skiing and snowboarding but they are so dull you’d never look twice at them. When releasing a product onto the slopes there’s a real need to bring some style and imagination to the mix – and the Ember gloves look the part.

Clever touches for heated gloves

We love it when real thought has gone into a product: look out for a nose wipe for the drips, an integrated lens squeegee for the goggles, a lift pass pocket on the back of each hand so you can swipe access at the gates, and touchscreen enabled thumb and index finger – for posting to Instagram.

Downside

Has to be the price of £198. If you’re used to spending £50/€75 on your ski gloves you’ll be asking should I really find the extra cash for these heated gloves? Still, good tech rarely comes cheap so you should expect to pay a premium for innovation if you want to move to heated gloves for skiing and snowboarding.
