Antibes is an attractive resort town on the French Riviera coast. Lying between Cannes and Nice, it’s right in the heart of this glamorous, sun-soaked region. Antibes is set around a natural harbour, with several spectacular beaches in and around the town and the Cap d’Antibes peninsula. Choose an Antibes windsurfing trip and you’ll be able to get out on the water in one of the most attractive parts of the Mediterranean.
Being such a popular part of the world, with so many beaches, Antibes has no shortage of operators offering windsurfing hire and lessons. There are some great spots around, with varied conditions. Depending on the time of year, you’ll find strong (and often challenging winds) at times, as well as good easy conditions for beginners.
There are some excellent wave spots around Anitbes. The area is known as one of Europe’s best for wave-sailors, with some powerful swells. Try the La Tour spot at the end of the Cap d’Antibes peninsula. Good waves can also often be found at nearby Cannes and Villefranche Sur Mer. Beware, though, of the rocky reefs beneath the surface: many of these spots are definitely experts only.
For beginners and the less experienced, there are plenty of more sheltered spots around and many calm days. It’s easy just to turn up and find a windsurf school to take you out on the water.
Take an Antibes windsurfing trip and you’ll find yourself in the heart of one of the Mediterranean’s most glamorous regions. It’s a great place to learn to windsurf, or to test your skills in conditions that can be some of the toughest in Europe.
