The Chamonix Valley in France is famous for its off piste skiing and snowboarding but what many people do not know is its also great for snowkiting. Chamonix is conveniently just an hours drive from Geneva, it is a collection of unlinked ski areas that give access to some of the best freeriding terrain on the planet. Located on the border with Switzerland and Italy on the off chance there is no wind you can fall back on skiing or snowboarding.

Most of the Chamomix snowkiting is located in the Tour de Balme ski area, with Col des Posettes and Col de Balme considered two of the best spots. We have written a detailed Chamonix snowkiting guide guide with the help of local instructor and pro rider with Ozone Thomas Ligonnet.
