Guide to Fuerteventura paraglide holidays

Fuerteventura is the Canary Islands’ most laid-back, sporty island. It is not the place tourists head for nightlife and glamour. Instead, it is the kind of place that people go when they want to kick back, chill out and enjoy playing in nature. Take a Fuerteventura paragliding trip and see for yourself how this lovely island challenges expectations…

Fuerteventura is a hot favourite with windsurfers and other wave-sports enthusiasts. The same Atlantic Ocean winds that keep them riding help get paragliders in the air. They can be strong, though, so take care and check the conditions out locally before you fly.

The Fuerteventura coast is made up of wild, wide beaches backed by huge dunes. Much of the interior is mountainous, with ancient volcanoes having formed a lunar landscape. It makes for fascinating flying, with great contrasting views over the rocks and the water.

You won’t find many official paragliding sites or schools on Fuerteventura. If you’re after a beginners’ lesson or tandem flight, you might need to head over to neighbouring islands, such as Gran Canaria or Lanzarote.

If you’re an experienced pilot, you’ll be able to fly on Fuerteventura yourself. Launch off the dunes and head out over the coastline and the stunning beaches. A cross-country journey along the coast is definitely one worth taking. Or try taking off from the mountain ridges near the coast, and flying towards the Atlantic Ocean.

A Fuerteventura paragliding trip could be challenging, but it will definitely be fun. Enjoy the gorgeous views, the fantastic weather, and the enjoyable atmosphere of this holiday island with a difference. If you have flown on the Canaries before and want a new challenge, Fuerteventura could be what you’re looking for.

    • Hi Jessica

I am sorry but we are a blog about paragliding rather than a paragliding company offering flights. Sorry I can’t help.

      Regards
