An Italy Kitesurfing holiday can take you to some very different spots across this picturesque country. From the north inland lakes to the island of Sardinia set in the Mediterranean you will find a location suitable for your level.

There is a large range of temperatures in Italy depending on when and where you go. However, in the warmer summer months you will only need board shorts in the south and a short wetsuit in the north. In the south and on the island of Sardinia you can expect summer temperatures to reach 30+ degrees. It is this range of conditions which attracts people.

The airport serving the main southern locations in Italy is Lamezia Terme Province International. From this airport you can reach most of the top southern, Mediterranean spots within a few hours by car. Gizzeria and Botricello are two of the main resorts with a good amount of hotels on offer directly on the kite beaches. You will find some fun conditions for all levels with waves, flat water and some good kickers for the more wakestyle orientated rider.

Sardinia has probably the most spots to ride and with the highest average temperatures across Italy, it is perfect for a short Italy kitesurfing holiday. The Cagliari airport is served by low cost airlines, which also makes a trip here easy on your wallet. From the airport, a short drive will get you to one of the main thirteen spots. The main beaches are all on the north, south and west shoreline. In the summer months a sea breeze will form throughout the day getting to 20+mph in the afternoon.

If you want to try something a little different then you can head to Lake Garda. Here you will find thermal winds on flat water areas protected by the rolling mountains and hills.
