Embark on an Everest Base Camp trekking holiday in the Himalayas!
Without a doubt, Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek is one of the most sought after treks in the world. It is a brilliant journey through the striking Khumbu Valley. The Everest Base Camp Trek is a world-renowned epic trip that is very physically demanding. The natural appeal of the Himalayas, the woods, and the rare wildlife found in this alpine region are a must-see. These sights, combined with the Sherpa culture and hospitality, have contributed to Everest Base Camp being one of themost admired excursions in Nepal.
The trek to Everest Base Camp begins from the tiny airstrip of Lukla. It then goes through alluring forest and fields before climbing up to the heavily populated Sherpa villages – Namche Bazaar and Khumjung. Exploration of Sherpa lifestyle and culture, chhortens, and mani walls increases the charm of the trek. You will also pass by a number of Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. Trekking is possible throughout the year, but Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September to November) provide the best weather. During the Spring, there is a bit more color and the rhododendrons are blooming, but in the Autumn months, the skies are generally clearer.
As the name suggests, the trek escorts you to the bottom of the world’s highest peak- Mt. Everest (8848 meters), first summited by climbers Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary. The Everest Base Camp Trek is an opportunity to seethe massive Himalayan peaks that cross 8000 meters – Mt. Everest, Lhotse, AmaDablam, Makalu and many more. The views of Khumbu Icefall and various glaciers are spectacular. Gorakshep is the highest located village in this area, which is the base to hike Everest Base Camp (5380m). Finally, we will have the opportunity to trek up to Kala Pattar (5545m) for the best view of Mt. Everest.
Everest Base Camp Trek requires fitness and acclimatization to avoid acute mountain sickness. Ascent Holidays arranges the trek with complete management, including Sagarmatha National Park entry permit. Please, feel free to contact us for the detailed information.
