We propose you a two-days hike through the most beautiful places in the Jungfrau Region, Switzerland. Overnight in a hut with half-board and experience the spectacular sunset and sunrise at the mountain hut situated over 2600m above the sea level. Enjoy the peaceful scenario once the day hikers go back down to town.

Start in Grindelwald, sleep in one of the oldest mountain huts in Europe and finish in Schynige Platte with views over the turquoise waters of lakes Brienz and Thun.

We will have different kinds of trails and views: Green meadows with cows, rocky areas, blue mountain lakes, and 4000m peaks with glacier. Lake Bachalpsee, one of the biggest attractions of this area, is also included in our itinerary. For the alpine flower lovers, we end our trekking by an alpine garden with about 800 species.

The price includes half-board and a bed on a dormitory. It is possible to book a double or triple room for an extra cost.

Itinerary

Itinerary for the Swiss Alps trek & mountain hut overnight stay in Grindelwald:

From Grindelwald, we take a bus to Bussalp, a place at 1800 metres above sea level with magnificent view of the Alps. Then we start our first day by hiking uphill through the emerald-green valleys, surrounded by the mountains and cows.

After crossing meadows and streams, we arrive in a rocky trail which give us another hiking experience. This area is amazing and very different from what we did till now. Arriving on the top, there is a small hut where we can sit for a bigger rest while enjoying the open views. From here, we can appreciate many peaks: Wetterhorn (3692m), Schrekhorn (4078m), Eiger (3970m), Mönch (4107m), Jungfrau (4158m), and others.

It is now time to start our downhill to the beautiful lake Bachalpsee. This is a big attraction in Grindelwald, so expect other tourists around. We can chill on the grass, put our feet in the water and appreciate the spectacular surroundings.

After recovering energy, we start our last climb of the day towards the oldest mountain hut in Europe, where we will be spending the night. With the spellbinding views of the surrounding mountains and Brienzersee lake, we enjoy delicious dinner prepared by the hut. The evening will be spend resting, enjoying each other company and experiencing spectacular sunset in the mountains.

In the morning, you can wake up early to watch the sunrise colors over the peaceful mountain. After that, is time to enjoy breakfast and get your pic-nic lunch, prepared by the mountain hut's staff.
This second day hike bring us incredible views. We have turquoise blue lakes, wild rocky scenarios, 4000m peaks with glacier, but also green meadows with alpine flowers.

The last part of our trekking is over the lake Brienz. You will have stunning views over interlaken, with lake Thun in one side and the blue lake Brienz in the other.

Before taking a very traditional and antique train, you can visit the Alpine Garden with around 800 Alpine flower species or relaxing at the restaurant's terrace, enjoying the views of Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen valleys.

It will be an unforgettable trip, where you will experience many different moments on the mountain.
