Guide to Lido Di Jesolo scuba diving holidays

Lido di Jesolo is a friendly, laid back resort on the Italian Riviera, close to the legendary city of Venice. The resort has an impressive 15 km long sandy beach, and for most visitors, Lido di Jesolo is a place to recharge batteries and relax. But what if that’s not quite enough to keep you happy? Then you could head out on a Lido di Jesolo scuba diving trip.

The Adriatic Sea around the resort is full of life, despite being so close to a major city. There are several dive centres in and around Lido di Jesolo taking divers out and offering courses. Dive spots include caves and wrecks. There is plenty to explore – hang around for a few days and keep diving.

You’ll see plenty of different fish, flora and fauna. The Adriatic is home to a total of 7000 species! Among them are bream, sole, eels, grouper, crabs, anemones and sea sponges. Some of the best local sites are near the town of Cortalezzo. You’ll be able to swim over rock slabs, explore burrows and look into caves. If you have the skills, there is some impressive cave diving to be had too.

There are several fascinating wrecks around too. The Quintino Stella is a World War Two torpedo boat which snapped into two sections as it was hit by a Torpedo, which can be seen with the wreckage. The VRMAC merchant ship is the most accessible wreck, sunk in 1967 and just 15m deep.

A Lido di Jesolo scuba diving holiday offers the chance to get off the beach and see the real beauty of the Adriatic…it can’t been seen from the side of a hotel pool!
