Now is a great time to buy cheap snowboarding gear

Every year, usually about fifteen minutes after you’ve finished eating your Christmas dinner, the annoying adverts for the January sales start. It’s because this is the time companies start to get desperate to rid themselves of last season’s stock on the cheap in order to make room for their new lines. It’s exactly the same logic that makes late summer a great time to buy cheap snowboarding gear.

Put aside your excitement that the new season is almost upon us, use your head and think logically about how snowboard gear sales work. All the major brands are busy putting the finishing touches to next season’s gear, and retailers are busier still making space for all the new lines they’re planning on selling.

So, what this means for you is that right now, they’re looking to offload as much of last season’s gear as possible. They’ve made their money, last season’s profits are in, so whatever they can get for the excess stock is a bonus. All of which means if you want to buy cheap snowboarding gear, now is the time to do it.

Take Dare 2B for example, they’re offering discounts of up to 72%. That’s a 7 (seven) followed by a 2 (two), in case you thought it was a mistake. That’s over seven tenths, well over two thirds off. Just in case you still need convincing it is a colossal, enormous, huge, massive, gargantuan, vast, monstrous saving.

It’s not just Dare2B, of course. The same process is happening across the snowboard industry. Zumiez are offering up to 60% off. Evo have got half price snowboards, boots and clothes. Route One, another major snowboard gear retailer, is also offering some big sales up to 70%. Snow and Rock have 50% off,  The Snow Asylum has some crazy discounts and pretty much every retailer and brand you can buy from direct from has slashed their prices.

So, what’s the downside, you might be asking. Well, really, there isn’t one. The only issue is that this is last season’s gear. But in all honestly, does that really matter? This gear was cutting edge twelve short months ago and it’s still top notch now. The difference between this and the latest gear is mostly cosmetic, different colours, some new pocket detailing, or a different graphic. Essentially it’s the same stuff at a fraction of the price.

If you’re looking to buy cheap snowboarding gear hit the end of summer sales and it will feel like Christmas has come early.
