Sea Kayaking

Fancy exploring coastlines under your own steam? Then sea kayaking might be the activity for you. But with 71% of the earth being ocean where to sea kayak? Well from Croatia to Canada and Thailand to Tanzania there are many beautiful places… So hopefully this worldwide sea kayaking travel guide will inspire you.

As the name implies sea kayaking is a water sport that involves paddling on a sea rather than lake or river. While sea kayaking sometimes uses in a specially designed kayak, it is not that different to any non-specialised kayak, and in calm conditions any kayak will do.

This is fine for a day trip or a few hours exploring, however if you are going on a sea kayaking expedition you should get a sea kayak. Typically they are longer and narrower which improves straight-line speed, this makes them less stable but conversely better at handling rougher conditions.

Sea kayaking is a very popular activity for recreation, competition sport or simply as a means of transport. If you want to know where to sea kayak near you then use the light blue destinations menu.

Below are sea kayaking holidays, courses, experiences and accommodation. Plus this worldwide sea kayaking travel guide includes inspirational articles to help you plan your next trip.
