Anguilla’s watersports industry is still fairly undeveloped, and its waters uncrowded. If you’re sick of busy waves, Anguilla might just be the place to be. If you have your own gear and transport, you’ll be able to access lots of fantastic wild spots, as well as those on the better-known beaches. The water is incredibly clear – you might even spot fish and turtles under your board.

The best time of year to go windsurfing in Anguilla is from December to March, when the winds are strongest – they can get up to 25 knots at their peak. The summer months sometimes bring hurricanes.

Cove Bay is a good place to start windsurfing in Anguilla. You can pick up hire gear and lessons there, and the beach is easy to get to. The water is generally flat, though you might find a little swell at times. Cove Bay is the perfect place for beginners to learn to windsurf.

You can explore offshore on a board in Anguilla. Little cays nearby include Sandy Island and Prickly Island. Watersports operators on the mainland will often run trips. You’ll get to sail surrounded by deep blue sea, before heading to your private island paradise for a beach barbecue.

Take an Anguilla windsurfing holiday and you’ll get to sail some of the most beautiful seas in the Caribbean.
