A Europe sailing trip offers plenty of possibilities: from the warm and mostly gentle waters of the Mediterranean, to the wild coasts of Scandinavia, and all points in between. European sailing can be easy or challenging, adventurous or simple. You can spend a few hours relaxing on a crewed charter from one of the continents many ports, or you can take off for weeks to explore under your own steam. The choice is yours.
For many, sailing in Europe means sailing in the Mediterranean. It’s not hard to see why. The coast of the Med is lined with big-name ports – think Cannes, Nice and Marbella. Mediterranean sailing can be a chance to join the jet set!
Further east, and you can explore the Adriatic Sea. Italy’s eastern coast and Croatia are particular highlights. Croatia’s jagged coast and islands makes for wonderful exploring. Just a little way south is Greece, where you can island-hop for weeks on end. From there, you can travel down to Turkey and cross into the Black Sea via the Bosphorus.
Sailing in Southern Europe is attractive and varied. Further north, the water can be wilder but the coastlines are stunning and often deserted. Sweden’s coast is especially beautiful, with undisturbed beaches and in the summer season, almost endless daylight. Or head to Scotland and explore the beauty and challenging sailing of the Hebrides. In winter, experienced sailing crews can take you on a journey to see the Northern Lights shine out over the ocean.
Europe sailing can be anything you want it to be. There is plenty of choice of destinations and of boats. Whether you want to chill out on a crewed charter boat or head off on your own adventure, you’ll be able to do it pretty much anywhere there’s water.
