Lahti has become a big centre for snowkiting in Finland. The city is an internationally known snowsports hub, with cross-country and downhill skiing. It is built on the shores of Lake Vesijärvi, a perfect spot for snowkiting. Snowkite schools based near the lake can teach beginners and hire out equipment, and with 111 square kilometres to explore, there’s little chance of getting bored.

In the far north of the country, Lapland offers some incredible snowkiting. The views over the surrounding arctic landscape are unforgettable. And if you’re really lucky, you could find yourself snowkiting under the northern lights. Life doesn’t get much better than that!

If you want to combine snowkiting with regular skiing or snowboarding, the resort of Ruka is good place to head. As well as having a good choice of slopes (floodlit during the long, dark days), and first-class facilities, it is surrounded by great snowkiting spots. There are several lakes around the resort for snowkiters to enjoy, as well as some nice, flat open spaces.

Finland is a fantastic destination for snowkiting. The country’s long winters mean guaranteed snow and frozen lakes from October to April every year. The scenery is breathtaking, and the snow just never seems to end.

A Finland snowkiting trip offers lots of opportunities for snowkiters to have fun. From beginners to seasoned experts, Finland is the place to be for snowkiters.
