The most popular snowkiting area near Les Deux Alpes is on the Col du Lautaret pass, which links the resort with nearby Serre Chevalier. It’s around a 45 minute drive from the resort. Col du Lautaret has hosted international snowkiting competitions, and offers some pretty spectacular kiting. Freeriders especially will love Col du Lautaret. At 2000m, the snow is reliable and deep and the wind is usually spot-on. There are snowkite schools and hire shops locally.

In Les Deux Alpes itself, you’ll have access to a huge off-piste area, considered by some to be one of the best in Europe. If you’re up for taking on some hills, Les Deux Alpes is the place to be.

Just over the border in Italy, and within day-trip distance, is La Thuile. The resort has a dedicated snowkiting area – something seldom seen in the Alps. There is a snowkiting school, lots of wind and a good choice of terrain to learn on, get some speed up or practice tricks.

A Les Deux Alpes snowkiting holiday is a great way to explore the Alps. There is varied terrain and great snow. Whether you’re a total beginner, or a seasoned expert, you’ll be able to have fun with a kite in Les Deux Alpes.
